WASHINGTONMultiple components of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will be speaking and exhibiting at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 in Las Vegas, Jan. 6-10, 2020.

In the face of natural and man-made disasters, federal, state and local agencies need safe, reliable and secure tools to prepare for, respond to, and reduce risk from complex threats and emergencies.

At CES 2020, DHS will discuss business opportunities for developing technologies that save lives, share perspectives on where technology solutions are needed to enhance mission capabilities, and demonstrate how technology solutions are making impacts on enhancing travel security; disaster preparedness, response and recovery; and critical infrastructure resilience.

DHS components at CES will include U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Science and Technology Directorate and the Transportation Security Administration.

The DHS exhibit booth #501, at the Westgate Las Vegas, will showcase technologies developed through the DHS Science and Technology Directorate, including projects from startup partners working with the DHS Silicon Valley Innovation Program and research underway by the Critical Infrastructure Resilience Institute (a DHS Center of Excellence).

Featured programs will include:

  • Enhancements to the nation’s wireless emergency alert system and 9-1-1 emergency response systems through Next-Generation Mobile Communications Infrastructure.
  • CBP’s efforts to expand the use of facial biometric technology through public-private partnerships with the air travel industry to further secure and enhance international travel.

There will also be a series of Tech Talks in the DHS booth throughout the duration of the CES event. A schedule will be posted on the DHS Science and Technology Directorate website. https://www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology/ces-2020.
