Media Advisory: DHS is Going to South By Southwest

WASHINGTON—The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) will be presenting in South By Southwest 2019 and partner program events in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, March 12th.

S&T invests in technologies to enhance security and resiliency for life-line operations, including transportation, communications and public safety.

“But we can’t do this alone, which is why we’re going to SXSW,” said S&T Deputy Under Secretary Andre Hentz. At SXSW, S&T is looking to meet with developers, city planners, and systems designers who know how to deal with unknowns and have unique experiences on how technology impacts risk and resilience.
